Salt Inhibitor Stick
Description
Salt Inhibitor Sticks are water soluble sticks containing a combination of surfactants and crystal modifiers to assist in the inhibition of salt buildup in the production string and surface equipment.
Application
In many gas wells, the water that enters the well bore contains various amounts of salts (sodium chloride and other salts) dissolved in the water. Often, the fluid moves up the casing and tubing. These dissolved salts will precipitate out and reduce the opening in the pipe and in some instances totally plug the pipe. There are various treatments for this condition such as dumping fresh water into the wells or going in with tools to clear this problem. The Salt Sticks helps keep the salt in solution by a salt chelating reaction and helps prevent this buildup from occurring or greatly reducing the situation.
TREATMENT DETERMINATION
In order to be effective, the Salt Stick should be used regularly (two or three times per week). In most wells, 1-2 sticks per treatment should be sufficient. Treatment amounts can be increased for large water volume situations. If Salt Stick are used in conjunction with Select Industries “soap” sticks we suggest using the Salt Stick on days or times when not using the soap sticks to get the maximum benefit from the Salt Stick.
